tragic news

Please pray for the repose of the souls of three of Francis' relatives who died earlier today in a car wreck in Argentina. ✝ May Their Souls and All the Souls of the Faithful Departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. ✝

  1. Fear those who kill the body and the soul -- it's terrible that these children are better off dead than to be reared by banal apostates.

    1. Some people reading your comment may think it harsh; but I remember when I read a book on Brother Andre of Canada of St. Joseph's Oratory, that he once told a man whose sons had died young that God had permitted them to die at this young age in order to ensure their salvation - that had they lived they would have embraced a life of mortal sin and have been damned. It seems like I've read a similar account in the life of St. John Vianney, but the one with Brother Andre sticks in my mind.

We all have to die. None of us is going to get out of this world without going through that. How God decides to remove us is His choice; our business is to do all we can to ensure and/or strive to stay out of mortal sin and amend our lives and try and be as good a Catholic Christian as we can, making all our efforts daily to please God and do His will in our daily duty to the best of our ability.

I am always sad when I hear of people dying in traffic accidents as they had no time to prepare themselves. That is why we must always be ready. Doing the Three Hail Marys devotion morning and night was recommended by St. John Vianney as a way to try and always be prepared for death when God decides it is our time. Send not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee?
