Dr. José Galat Noumer, the president of the Gran Colombia University and the TeleAmiga channel, made the news recently due to his position on Francis being an anti-Pope. On his TeleAmiga show ‘Un Café con Galat’ (A Coffee with Galat), which reaches over 50 million homes in 35 countries, he has been sharing his research and ideas on Francis. The Episcopal Conference of Colombia couldn’t take the pressure Dr. Galat was bringing and announced that Dr. Galat was excommunicated.
Bishop Pedro Mercado, president of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal, said: “It is painful for me to realize that Dr. Galat, who for so many years served the Church faithfully, has ended his days [of service] in this regrettable spiritual situation. But in disobeying Pope Francis in a visible, public and reiterated way, the same Dr. Galat has placed himself outside the communion of the Church ( ...) With his angry response to the Episcopate and his obstinate rejection of Pope Francis, Dr. José Galat has placed himself outside the communion of the Catholic Church. He should not be admitted to the sacraments until he shows clear signs of Repentance!”
Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with Dr. Galat, there are many Spanish language video excerpts and documents translated in this video that haven’t been available in English before. A few we have covered on Call Me Jorge... but many (even though we would have liked to) we haven’t. We thank ‘Un Café con Galat’ and TeleAmiga for dubbing the episode into English and also thank the blogger nazareusrex for bringing it to our attention in the comments.
