Francis was no stranger to having Orthodox rabbis over for Christmas Eve when he was the Cardinal Archbishop of Buenos Aires. Readers of this blog, know that Francis loves all things Chasidic and that his inner-Jew is a Hasid. It is logical to assume that Francis has continued this ‘tradition’ after he moved into Casa Santa Marta. Since Francis’ reign began he has sought to invert everything associated with Jesus the Christ and the Catholic Faith. Wouldn’t it therefore also be logical to ask if Francis spent the night playing chess with the rabbis, tearing toilet paper for the year, spinning the dreidel, and reading from the Toledot Yeshu?
