Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller proposes extending Pauline privilege to “baptized Christians [who are] not sufficiently evangelized.”

“In the global situation, in which virtually there are no longer any more homogeneously Christian environments that can offer the individual Christian the support of a collective mentality and in the “only partial identification” with the Catholic faith and with its ensuing sacramental, moral and spiritual life, perhaps the problem, mutatis mutandis, of a dissolution of a first marriage contracted not “in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 7:39) in favorem fidei. may also arise for the baptized Christians that were not sufficiently evangelized.”

Flashback to 2015....
Curial cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller does not rule out admitting remarried divorcees to Communion “in extreme individual cases”, according to media reports. Although a general admittance to Communion for such members of the faithful could not be granted, in specific cases there could be “an admittance in the realm of conscience”, the leader of the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith said in a conversation with “Focus” magazine. This was also the view of John Paul II’s 1981 document “Familiaris consortio” (n. 84), according to Muller. “It is possible to think further in this direction”, the German cardinal said. In any case one would have to proceed in accordance with “theologically justifiable perspectives”.
As prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Muller is participating in the world synod of bishops currently in session. He is part of the German language group, in which are represented nearly all synod participants from Germany and Austria, among them Cardinals Walter Kasper, Reinhard Marx, and Christoph Schönborn.

And remember Francis said this is 2016,

“It’s provisional, and because of this the great majority of our sacramental marriages are null. Because they say “yes, for the rest of my life!” but they don’t know what they are saying. Because they have a different culture. They say it, they have good will, but they don’t know.”

[...]

Pope Francis attributed the marriage crisis to people who “don’t know what the sacrament is” and don’t know “the beauty of the sacrament.”
“They don’t know that it’s indissoluble, they don’t know that it’s for your entire life. It’s hard,” the Pope said.
[...]

“I’ve seen a lot of fidelity in these cohabitations, and I am sure that this is a real marriage, they have the grace of a real marriage because of their fidelity

Francis’ dictatorship of paranoia

“I heard it from some houses here, that people working in the Curia are living in great fear: If they say one small or harmless critical word, some spies will pass the comments directly to the Holy Father, and the falsely accused people don’t have any chance to defend themselves. These people, who are speaking bad words and lies against other persons, are disturbing and disrupting the good faith, the good name of others whom they are calling their brothers.”

Francis dismisses Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller

Two modernists, Francis and Cardinal Müller, holding hand during better days.

Cardinal Müller fired by Pope Francis
His Eminence, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith since July 2, 2012, was dismissed by Pope Francis at the exact expiration of his term of 5 years.

Cardinal Müller is one of the cardinals who have tried to interpret ‘Amoris laetitia’, using a hermeneutic of continuity with the Tradition of the Church. This was enough to count him among the critics of the new course imposed by Pope Bergoglio.

Clarin reported on 24 June 2017 in the article, El Papa avanza en la renovación y relevaría al guardián de la ortodoxia, that Müller and Francis didn’t see eye-to-eye on many matters.  Also reported by them was that Francis wouldn’t renew Müller’s position as head of the Prefect of the Congregation for the Destruction of the Faith come July.  The above article published on the website of Corrispondenza Romana confirms these rumors.  This is interesting because both Müller and Francis are two heretical peas in a pod.  Müller has said that communion could be given to unrepentant adulterers (divorced and remarried) in exceptional cases, denies the Resurrection, and denies the Catholic Dogma of Transubstantiation, as well as denies the Dogma of Perpetual Virginity of Our Lady!  Apparently those positions were too conservative for the radical Francis.

According to the Vatican’s Bollettino, Francis had a private audience with Müller this morning where he was likely notified of the decision.  In the past Müller had laughably denied that there were cardinals opposed to Francis calling the idea “absolutely absurd” and told Bp. Fellay of the SSPX,  that the Congregation for the Destruction of the Faith is, “waiting for you to help us fight the modernists” in the Novus Ordo church.  We are guessing that Cardinal George Pell is thankful for this move as the Italian media has something else to focus on besides his recent charges.  That leaves us with speculation as to whom Francis will choose as Müller’s replacement as Prefect of the Congregation for the Destruction of the Faith.  We at Call Me Jorge... believe it will be someone who makes the modernist Müller appear conservative.

Did interviews like this make Müller fall out of Francis’ favor?

One hopes and prays that Müller stays away from youth.

the process of the regularization of the SSPX continues

a lobotomized frog doesn't realize the water is getting warmer

Francis gives the local diocsean Novus Ordo bishops the ability to grant faculties to the priests of the FSSPX to officiate at weddings under certain conditions.

Your Eminence,
Your Excellency,
As you are aware, for some time various meetings and other initiatives have been ongoing in order to bring the Society of St. Pius X into full communion. Recently, the Holy Father decided, for example, to grant all priests of said Society the faculty to validly administer the Sacrament of Penance to the faithful (Letter Misericordia et misera, n.12), such as to ensure the validity and liceity of the Sacrament and allay any concerns on the part of the faithful.
Following the same pastoral outlook which seeks to reassure the conscience of the faithful, despite the objective persistence of the canonical irregularity in which for the time being the Society of St. Pius X finds itself, the Holy Father, following a proposal by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, has decided to authorize Local Ordinaries the possibility to grant faculties for the celebration of marriages of faithful who follow the pastoral activity of the Society, according to the following provisions.
Insofar as possible, the Local Ordinary is to grant the delegation to assist at the marriage to a priest of the Diocese (or in any event, to a fully regular priest), such that the priest may receive the consent of the parties during the marriage rite, followed, in keeping with the liturgy of the Vetus ordo, by the celebration of Mass, which may be celebrated by a priest of the Society.
Where the above is not possible, or if there are no priests in the Diocese able to receive the consent of the parties, the Ordinary may grant the necessary faculties to the priest of the Society who is also to celebrate the Holy Mass, reminding him of the duty to forward the relevant documents to the Diocesan Curia as soon as possible.
Certain that in this way any uneasiness of conscience on the part of the faithful who adhere to the Society of St. Pius X as well as any uncertainty regarding the validity of the sacrament of marriage may be alleviated, and at the same time that the process towards full institutional regularization may be facilitated, this Dicastery relies on Your cooperation.
The Sovereign Pontiff Francis, at the Audience granted to the undersigned Cardinal President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei on 24 March 2017, confirmed his approval of the present letter and ordered its publication.
Rome, from the Offices of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, 27 March 2017.
