“Perché la sofferenza dei bambini è certamente la più dura da accettare; e allora il Signore mi chiama a stare, anche se brevemente, vicino a questi bambini e ragazzi e ai loro familiari. Tante volte mi faccio e mi rifaccio la domanda: perché soffrono i bambini? E non trovo spiegazione. Solo guardo il Crocifisso e mi fermo lì.”

— English translation —
“Because the suffering of children is certainly the most difficult to accept; and then the Lord calls me to stay, albeit briefly, nearby with these children and their families. So many times I make, and I refer the question: why children suffer? And I find no explanation. I only look at the Crucifix and I stop there.”
Recall during his visit January 2015 visit to the Philippines when Francis was asked by a tearful 12 year old former street child, Glyzelle Palomar, “Many children are abandoned by their parents. Many children get involved in drugs and prostitution. Why does God allow these things to happen to us? The children are not guilty of anything.” And Francis answered, “She is the only one who has put a question for which there is no answer and she wasn’t even able to express it in words but in tears. The nucleus of your question … almost doesn’t have a reply.” That time Francis used a poor child for a photo-op to make himself appear compassionate when he was anything but. His answer was an empty naturalistic attempt devoid of any Christianity. In our previous post on this topic, Francis' compassion or indifference to a little girl in the Philippines?, we recommended Francis to read the Baltimore Catechism which has the answer as well as the Gospel According to Matthew.
As Francis demonstrates in his speech at the pediatric hospital in Genoa, his religion has no answers. This even though he is gazing directly at the reason. As Jesus the Christ says in, the greatest sermon of all time, The Sermon on the Mount,
“Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.”(St. Matthew 7:5)
May God through His infinite Mercy and Grace cast the beam out of Francis’ eyes, open his heart and mind, in order to convert him to the Catholic Faith, where he will find the answers to his questions.
60. What are the chief punishments of Adam which we inherit through original sin?
The
chief punishments of Adam which we inherit through original sin are:
death, suffering, ignorance, and a strong inclination to sin.
All things are delivered to me by my Father. And no one knoweth the Son, but the Father: neither doth any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom it shall please the Son to reveal him. Come to me, all you that labour, and are burdened, and I will refresh you. Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is sweet and my burden light.
Born in 1932 in Barcelona, Fr. Espinal studied both philosophy and
theology before entering the Jesuit novitiate in Veruela in Zaragoza at
the age of 17.
The same year he traveled to Bergamo,
Italy to study audiovisual journalism. After two years he returned to
Spain and began to work for Spanish radio and television corporation TVE
at the height of Francisco Franco's rule.
Fr.
Espinola denounced the censorships placed on TVE under Franco and left
Spain. He moved to Bolivia in August 1968, where he took over as chair
in the journalism department of the Bolivian Catholic University, and
later become sub-director.
He was granted Bolivian
citizenship in 1970, and over the course of the next 10 years worked in
both the written and radio press, produced documentaries on social
themes and got into screenwriting.
As an avid defender
of human rights, the priest cofounded the Permanent Assembly of Human
Rights in Bolivia in 1976. During the 1971 military coup led by Hugo
Banzer Suarez, Fr. Espinola intervened on behalf of persecuted and
detained politicians and trade unions.
In 1977 he
participated in a three-week-long hunger strike to gain general amnesty
for political exiles, validity of trade unions and the withdrawal of the
army from mining centers.
In 1979 Fr. Espinola founded
the weekly newspaper “Aqui,” which was quickly dubbed “leftist” due to
its anti-establishment views and vocal criticism of government
corruption.
As a result of his work, the priest was kidnapped by a group of paramilitaries March 21, 1980, while on his way home.
According
to police and militants at the time, the militants took Fr. Espinola to
La Paz' Achachicala slaughterhouse, where he was tortured for five
hours before being shot 17 times. His body was found handcuffed and
gagged the next morning.
In 2007, Morales officially
declared March 21 as the “Day of Bolivian Cinema” due to the priest’s
contributions in the area. On that day, cinemas and television channels
are obliged to show national films, particularly relating to the themes
of human rights and indigenous peoples.
Fr. Lombardi noted during a July 6 press briefing that no cause has been opened for Fr. Espinal's beatification.
Luis Espinal Camp, the Marxist-Jesuit priest at work.
Fr. Espinal, who considered himself a "worker priest" remained in the
capital, La Paz, where he lived in a poor neighborhood with two other
Jesuits. He worked as a theater critic for the daily newspaper Presencia
and initially designed his own show on national television, in which he
reported on the "worker priests" and took interviews with members of
the Marxist guerrilla movement Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN). In
1971 he was awarded Bolivian citizenship. From that year until his
death he was a member of the Jesuit radio station Radio Fides and chief
editor of the weekly newspaper he founded, Aquí as a mouthpiece left
"popular movements". He supported the miners' movement, founded in 1976
the human rights organization, Asamblea de Derechos Humanos and joined a
public hunger strike in 1977 with the demand for democratization.
Luis
Espinal was one of a number of Jesuits and got closer to various forms
of Marxism. Unlike his brothers he did not go over to armed struggle.
When
the Leftist Nationalist, Lidia Gueiler Tejada from the interim
Revolutionary Nationalist Movement of Bolivia, was the President of the
Republic, Espinal was abducted and murdered on March 21, 1980. Whether
the offenders were sent by the drug cartels that soon afterwards
supported the dictatorship of Luis García Meza Tejada, or from one of
the various rapidly changing, and disempowered military rulers could
never be clarified. Espinal followers see the reason in his public
criticism of an amnesty for crimes during the tenure of President
Banzer.
Luis
Espinal left Spain because he felt stiffled by the censorship of Franco's government. After Luis had lived in Bolivia for a time he wrote that, "The liberation of the workers will be the work of themselves." Yup, that sounds the opposite of what Christ said,"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me." (John 14,6)
The hammer & sickle crucifix, hand carved by and used by the late Fr. Luis Espinal Camps, S.J. It is kept at the Jesuit headquarters in La Paz, Bolivia.
Francis didn't know Luis Espinal had carved a crucifix like this.
The two medals presented to Francis by Evo Morales. Notice the same hammer & sickle crucifix as the emblem on the top one. Also, the two co-official flags of Bolivia. Since 2009, Bolivia has had two flags. The rainbow colored flag is called the Wiphala of Qullasuyu or the Túpac Katari Wisphala and the rainbow supposedly stands for the indigenous people and the land they live in. Coincidentally, the flag has 7 colors as does the Noahide Rainbow. The Tupac Katari Guerrilla Army (Ejército Guerrillero Túpac Katari) traces its origins to the revolutionaries trained by Che Guevara. We bring this last point up only because one of the Tupac Katari Guerrilla Army's former members, Álvaro García Linera, is the current vice-president of Bolivia.
News media outlets and conservative Catholic websites went into overdrive after the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, gave the two hammer & sickle crucifixes to Francis as presents. They claimed Francis uttered, “This is not right," when receiving the gift and used a still shot taken out of context, ignoring the smile seen in the video on Francis' face and the fact that he accepted both gifts! Great job reporting guys! Our take on it is that those in the media doing the reporting still see communism as evil and projected their own desires onto Francis and they further didn't do their work, checking what was actually said in the video. In our opinion at Call Me Jorge..., Francis should have slapped Morales across the face for presenting him with blasphemous gifts like this and walked out of the room at the least. Instead of the falsely attributed quote, he said, “I didn't know that.” Doesn't sound like a condemnation does it?
English subtitles of what transpired in brief exchange between Morales and Francis when hammer & sickle crucifix was given
Here is a transcript of the words exchanged between Morales and Francis, extracted from the clips based on the audio and subtitles:
[Morales:] Santidad, han tallado afortunadamente el símbolo de la cruz del martillo y de la hoz que es probablemente obra de Espinal, Luis de Espinal… Interesante como símbolo.
[Francis:] No sabía eso.
[Morales:] Ya lo sabe.
And now the same in English:
[Morales:] Your Holiness, fortunately they have made the symbol of the hammer-and-sickle cross, which is probably the work of Espinal, Luis de Espinal. It’s an interesting symbol.
Rome Reports finally corrects their error, kind of
Are
you sitting down dear reader? The Vatican said, the hammer &
sickle cross was not a sign of ideology but one of dialogue! They used the same explanation Xavier Albo gave. Thanks for
the clarification Fr. Lombardi. The communists should remember that
line next time they are massacring Christians.
Instead of reading Francis' new encyclical Laudato si', the Vatican and all Catholics should take the time to read two encyclicals which condemn the same socialism and communism Francis so admires.
"Let's
say together with our heart: no family without a roof, no peasant
farmer without land, no worker without rights, no person without
dignified labour!"
“Land, roof, and work … It’s odd, but for some, if I talk about these [subjects], it turns out the pope is a communist.”
Above Fr. Taborda recounts his witnessing Jorge Bergoglio steal his confessor's crucifix. He then relates how he encouraged him to do it, saying it was OK to Bergoglio because he was the bishop. Fr. Taborda and Francis would do well to read a good (pre-Vatican II) Catholic catechism and take its lessons to heart. More:
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis confessed Thursday that he took the rosary cross of his late confessor from his casket and wears it to this day in a fabric pouch under his cassock. He said he did so telling the late priest, "Give me half your mercy."
Francis made the revelation Thursday during an informal chat with Roman priests about the need to be merciful to their flocks. He told the story of the "great confessor" of Buenos Aires who had heard confessions from most of the diocesan priests as well as from Pope John Paul II when he visited Argentina.
When the priest died, Francis went to pray by his open casket and was stunned that no one had brought any flowers.
"This man forgave the sins of all the priests of Buenos Aires, but not a single flower ...?" Francis recalled. So he went out and bought a bouquet of roses, and when he returned to arrange them around the casket, he saw the rosary the priest still held in his hand.
"And immediately there came to mind the thief we all have inside ourselves and while I arranged the flowers I took the cross and with just a bit of force I removed it," he said, showing with his hands how he pulled the cross off the rosary. "And in that moment I looked at him and I said 'Give me half your mercy.'"
Francis said he kept the cross in his shirt pocket for years, but that the cassock he wears now as pope doesn't have a pocket. He now keeps it in a little pouch underneath.
"And whenever a bad thought comes to mind about someone, my hand goes here, always," he said, gesturing to his heart. "And I feel the grace, and that makes me feel better.".
(Where Bergoglio's theft went down on Easter Sunday 1996.)
Another one from the you can't make this stuff up file. Francis back when he was Bishop Bergoglio stole a the Crucifix from the rosary of his confessor. It was in the crypt of the Basílica del Santísimo Sacramento de Buenos Aires so presumably there was a host in the building. This theft was committed not only on Easter Sunday but in the presence of Christ! Watch the video at the bottom of the page and see dear reader if Francis shows any remorse or contrition for his behavior. Rather, he presents his theft as an act of humility. He keeps this stolen Crucifix on his person tucked away and boasts about it with a hidden pride. This speaks volumes of his aversion of Our Lord's Crucifixion. Francis wears a pectoral cross which doesn't have a crucified Christ but instead has a representation of Him with a lamb. His favorite painting is The White Crucifixion by Marc Chagall which portrays Christ as a Talmudic Jew. He has used several croziers only one of which has a crucified Christ on it. The one which does is the grotesque Broken Cross and we have intentions of writing an entry on it in the future; not to mention, his blasphemous jokes about Our Lord's Crucifixions.
While committing this theft Francis gives us another peak into his psyche. See dear reader, Francis was so distraught his confessor didn't have any flowers by his coffin he went out and brought some. This led him to see Fr. Aristi's rosary which he then proceeded to steal the Crucifix from while having the chutzpah to ask the deceased Fr. Aristi for half his mercy! Why didn't Francis instead get on his knees and say a rosary for Fr. Aristi's soul? St. Louis de Montfort writes every time a Hail Mary is recited a rose is offered to the Blessed Virgin Mary, presumably she would share a few with Fr. Aristi. No, instead we have Francis offering things of the earth, flowers, and stealing the thing of God, the crucifix, on Easter Sunday! Let this be a lesson, even when Francis has intentions of doing
something kind, the result is sin. The overused expression certainly
comes to mind, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This is a
mirror-like reflection of the fruits of the Novus Ordo Missae &
Vatican II.
Does the ends ever justify the means? According to the behavior of Francis it does! Is Francis blind to his own iniquities? This man could have had any relic, within reason, of any Saint he wanted. All he would have had to do was write Rome as Bishop Bergoglio. Instead he commits desecration to a corpse and sacrilege to God by his theft. Is
it any wonder he has repressed what he sees as the Traditional Latin Mass? He smells the hint of sacrifice might still exist in the '62
Missal so he snuffs it out. Francis associates it with the old and
being a modernist he wants new. He has been hanging out too much with
his rabbinical buddies and is performing tikkun olam on the Novus Ordo
church, in the style of a modernist. Again we couldn't in our most wildest imaginings
make such a bizarre story up. It confounds our minds to
think he is the Vicar of Christ! Better keep a close watch on your soul,
else Francis might steal that too. People in the modern world
often lament that God doesn't speak to them any more... well this is the
equivalent of shouting from the rooftops for all to hear! He is a
thief! Beware!
