Another Francis interview on soccer

Fútbol con Alma — Soccer with Soul

More gems of stupidity from Francis in a book interview.

Really, soccer is like life?

Where does he come up with this stuff?

The purpose is to score goals no matter what your teammates’ religions are or what country they are from.  And the kicker, it’s where rich and poor interact together in solidarity.

Is it OK to throw-up now?

Is Francis in charge of the Catholic church or running for election to be the President of all the religions in the world?

This only days after Francis returned from World Youth Day — Kraków 2016 where he said Lionel Messi was the greatest soccer player of all-time.

Francis is interviewed in new book about soccer

Will Francis add this book to his Vatican soccer shrine?

  1. Please come up with a better critique. To compare sport with life is a common trope. You need to read Johan Huizinga's Homo Ludens, and Hugo Rahner, S.J.(the more orthodox brother) Man at Play. Both offer serious academic analysis of play - and sport is a species of at genus.

I am not a bergogliano, I recognize that there are reasons to criticize the Pope but come on you can do better than that.
