more on the trickster Malachi Martin

Malachi Martin promoting his book, Jesus Now, on
William F. Buckley's television program the Firing Line.

To help flesh out the slippery character, who portrayed himself as a traditionalist in his late life, we will have upcoming entries with excerpts from three books on the man.  Topics they cover will include; his loves affairs, dealings at the Second Vatican Council, books he wrote, etc...  The three books are:
  • Queen of the Oil Club: Wanda Jablonski and the Power of Information
  • Hothouse: The Art of Survival and the Survival of Art at America's Most Celebrated Publishing House, Farrar, Straus, and Giroux
  • My Struggle for Freedom
Today we have four pages from Hothouse which deal with Martin's backstage machinations at the Second Vatican Council, his sympathy to the Talmudic Jewish religion, Martin is compared to the heretical Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, the Guggenheim connection, and how his love affair with Kakia Livanos began.
